The final two weeks of the spring clinic will be held each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:30-8:00 at the Latshmere Swim Club. These weeks preceding the Memorial day weekend will place a greater emphasis on dryland exercises with pool workouts scheduled as time and weather conditions permit. Opportunities to review week four video recordings will also be included.

For more information about Collegiate's spring training and clinic, write to CollegiateAquatics@gmail.com or speak with a Collegiate coach.

Our annual spring clinic and conditioning sessions will officially begin on Tuesday, April 14 and run every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for a six week period, ending Thursday, May 21.

The first four weeks will be devoted to in water stroke refinement, coordination and progressively more challenging sets for older swimmers. The fourth week in particular will include over and underwater recording of swimmers strokes and the opportunity for coaches to review these recordings with athletes. The final two weeks will place a greater emphasis on dryland exercises that address basic strength, core stability, and introductory exercises for explosive speed off starts and turns.

Water sessions are scheduled at the Central Penn Fitness Center natatorium. The weeks of dryland emphasis are scheduled at the Latshmere Swim Club. There will be two in-water sessions each evening. Dryland sessions for all swimmers may be scheduled for the same time but broken out in groups according to age and the type of exercises performed. Dryland times will be determined and announced based on the number of participants and range of ages.

Younger swimmers (generally 10 & under) will have in-water sessions each evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. These sessions will include a greater emphasis on stroke development and basic endurance.

Older/more experienced swimmers (generally 11-older) will have basic dry-land sessions (emphasis: flexibility, core strength, and muscular endurance) preceding water time on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:15-7:00 p.m. (some Saturday mornings will also be included as a part of the clinic - details TBA). In-water sessions are scheduled each evening from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Stroke refinement, strength development, and progressively more challenging sets will be introduced for the older age groups as the sessions progress.

More details will be provided to registered swimmers and their families via email prior to the start of the sessions. Please be sure to respond in a timely manner. We have had a great deal of interest in these sessions and may have to limit attendance - REGISTER EARLY.

Long Course Classic Trials/Finals Meet - June 11-14, 2015 at Bucknell University, Lewisburg PA

Meet Information section is HERE

A report of Collegiate swimmer entries is HERE.

Psych Sheets are HERE

A one page meet timeline is HERE.

Parking and entering the pool:

As like most colleges and universities over the Summer months, Bucknell University has a good amount of construction around campus including the sports areas. Parents, Spectators, and athletes will enter the front door of Sojka Pavilion. Here is a photo of where you will enter. Notice there is fencing areas that are off limits in the grassy areas in front of Sojka Pavilion. It is suggested that parents "drop off" their athletes in the "U" by the main doors and then park along Moore Ave., Faculty Court, and Christy Mathewson Practice Field Lot. Here is a parking map with a "yellow/green highlights" of where the best places to park are located. The "red circle" indicates where the pool is located.

As a side note, there is no "paid parking" at Bucknell University. All parking on campus is free. On Saturday and Sunday you are permitted to park in Faculty and Staff parking spots if closer to the athletic building.

Pool Deck:

Absolutely NO DECK CHAIRS will be permitted on the pool deck. We have brought in some additional bleachers for teams, but we can NOT have deck chairs of any type. On the wall behind the diving boards (starting end) there is a new "Evacuator System" that is used to purge the pool air on the pool deck. Keep your bags and towels away from this area so we can let this system "do its job" and keep us having great air during the meet

Distance Events:

Looks like we will be able to swim all heats of the mile on Thursday evening .

800 Free on Friday "Cut List is here". The 800 free will start about 1:20pm on Friday and we will run 3 heats of women and 3 heats of men during the prelim session (alternating women/men.....fastest to slowest). We will then run the fastest men's and fastest women's heat as the first events of Friday evening Finals session. All other entries below the "red line" will be cut. If you have athletes that are "below the red line" that would like to enter a different event, send me an email ASAP letting me know what they want to swim. There is no extra fee for these changes

400 Free on Sunday "Cut List is here" The 400 free will start about 12:40pm on Sunday and we will run 4 heats of women and 4 heats of men (that are not swimming later in the Finals session) during the prelim session (alternating women/men.....fastest to slowest). We will then run the fastest 2 men's and fastest 2 women's heat (no matter what age) as well as the fastest 2 heats of each men's and women's (13 and 14 ages) as the final events of the Sunday evening Finals session. All other entries will be cut. If you have athletes that are "below the red line" that would like to enter a different event, send me an email ASAP letting me know what they want to swim. There is no extra fee for these changes

Admission for each session is $5. Please let your parents know that we are charging for all sessions and we will be clearing the gallery after each AM session before warm-ups of the 12 and under session.

Heat sheets will be printed at the start of the meet. There may be some sessions where heat sheets are not ready until a few minutes after the start of the meet. Bucknell University has a nice HD Display Board where all of the athlete names will appear as well as their heat and lanes. Please have your parents BE PATIENT as we will get Heat Sheets to them. Heat Sheets are distributed in this order (1) Posted on pool deck for athletes (2) Coaches (3) Officials/meet admin staff (4) Parents.

The meet host will be using meet mobile and will keep that updated almost "real time" We are not charging for heat sheets (other than the amount that Active Network charges you for the yearly subscription).

Results will be posted on the pool deck as well as the spectator gallery and online at http://yswimmeet.com

The meet host may be in need of a few timers especially during the 12 and under sessions. Parents will be refunded their admission fee as well have GREAT hospitality available to them

A "Text Communication" service will be used this year for any last minute changes or communication to each of you. If each of you will please do the following, it will greatly help our Admin Referee and Meet Directors

Text LCCLASSIC to 84483 prior to the start of the meet (Thursday of next week). You may also follow this web link to register your cell number (you will have to reply with a code sent your electronic device).

We will be using this "SMS Communication" for all communications after the meet begins. We will continue to send emails, but this texting communication will be our primary method after the meet begins.
